Virtual Bassoon Program

The 2020 Virtual SSMF Bassoon Program is available for all students accepted into the 2020 Sewanee Summer Music Festival and festival alumni. Students will have the opportunity to participate in private lessons, group classes, and seminars with our acclaimed artist faculty and connect with students across the world, all from the safety of their own homes. The program includes four weeks of instruction between June 20-July 19, 2020. The deadline to register is June 1, 2020.

Program Offerings

Four 45-minute private lessons
(lessons in week 1 and 2 with Professor Beavers, lessons in week 3 and 4 with Professor Rath)

Regular group classesincluding:

Weekly zoom studio class: You will be able to perform live or pre-record yourself. Feedback will be provided by SSMF faculty and students in the online session.
Technique class: A technique class chosen from topics requested by participants.
Excerpt class: A class on orchestral excerpts. Student input will be requested.
Special topics: presented either by faculty or guests over the course of the 4 weeks, covering a range of ideas

Tuition and Fees

The total cost of tuition is $475. Extra private lessons will be available for an additional fee. To complete registration, please pay your tuition here. The deadline to register is June 1, 2020.

The Sewanee Summer Music Festival reserves the right to deny registrants and refund fees to anyone who does not have the proper level of training to participate in the course.
