The SSMF Pre-College Experience is a two-week program designed to prepare music loving students for college.  This unique program offers both a high level ensemble experience performing masterworks AND an academic exploratory program that includes daily classes preparing for the standardized college entrance exams. The SSMF Pre-College Experience is open to string students ages 14-17.

High Quality Musical Experience

Participants in the Pre-College Experience will have the opportunity to work with our esteemed faculty in master classes, perform masterworks in a large ensemble experience and work with amazing conductors.  All students can sign up for optional private lessons.
Students will rehearse and perform with the Cumberland Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Jherrard Hardeman and Mario Torres in two concerts packed with exciting repertoire.

Academic Exploration Classes

Private lessons are an excellent way for students to deepen their studies and receive focused mentorship alongside their ensemble and academic experiences.

Test Prep Program

All students will participate in ACT or SAT Prep Program, designed to strengthen test-taking strategies and build confidence for college entrance exams.
